Learning today, Leading tomorrow!
Hi! Welcome to Holy Trinity's Band Page! First of all, make sure you scroll down the page and check out the Virtual Recital, "Reflections" from last year's band students to see their progress after one to three years of lessons.
We have two bands:
Please watch the videos below and then let me know if you're interested in joining band this year by filling out the interest form or by emailing me if you have questions. There will be paperwork sent home the first week of school for students to formally sign up for band. You will still need to fill out this paperwork. Students who are choosing the remote learning option may still participate in band.
How do I know what instrument I should play?
If you're still not sure after watching the videos, Menchey's Music offers a safe and effective way for students to "try out" the different instruments. Simply schedule an appointment with them. You are under no obligation to buy or rent an instrument from them.
What materials do I need for band?
Students obviously need an instrument. They also need a method book folding metal music stand, and any other supplies such as reeds and valve oil that their instrument might need. I can help you acquire all of these supplies.
Where can I get an instrument?
Holy Trinity rents used instruments to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. Parents are responsible for any repairs needed throughout the year. It is recommended that all students who have been playing for at least a year buy their own instrument.
Please reach out to me before purchasing your own instrument. I want to ensure you get a good quality instrument without spending too much money. Menchey's Music also has reliable service and great deals on instruments.
I will be adding more content to this page that will help answer any questions you may have about the band program. Or you may contact me at mkiefer@htcsyork.org.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Please complete the below for your child if they have an interest in a band instrument or piano lessons. This doesn't obligate you to lessons (there is an additional cost), but helps us plan.
My sincere thanks to the administration, faculty, and staff of Holy Trinity for their support of our music program. Special thanks to the parents for supporting your children in their musical development and lastly to the students for the time and dedication!!
