My name is Mary Jean Dietrich and I am a parishioner at St. Patrick Church since we moved here 23 years ago.
I am the wife of Steve Dietrich and we are the parents of 5 sons who all attended St. Patrick School and graduated from York Catholic High School - Stephen Jr., Gabriel, Michael, Raphael and Joshua (he is a Senior at YC this year). We are also proud grandparents to an almost 2 year old - Beckett!
I began working at St. Patrick School 13 years ago when I was asked to substitute as a Teacher's aide in the Pre-K classroom. I have been working here ever since then. I have been a Teacher's aide through the years in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade and have also been a recess monitor for the school.
I have also been an Envirothon coach for St. Patrick School for 10 years.
Catholic Education is very important to me and my husband. We both attended Catholic grade schools and High School and wanted the same values for our own children. Through the years I have enjoyed many hobbies but the 1 thing I am passionate about is our Catholic Faith. One of the deciding factors for me attending St. Patrick Church is the Good Shepherd Perpetual Adoration Chapel. I started adoring our Lord in the Eucharist as a teenager and was thrilled to find this parish and chapel with a school too! As a parent, praying for our children is very important and the peace I find sitting in the presence of Jesus is the closest thing to heaven on earth. We are created - brought into being- to know God, Love God, and Serve God. Parents are the 1st and most significant teachers of this, but, a good Catholic School is a tremendous help!
